Welcome to StudioMo where you’ll find lots of stuff about hand carved rubber stamps which is what I love to do.    I wanted to create a blog so I had a place other than my etsy store (where you can purchase all of my handmade creations) www.StudioMo.etsy.com to show different aspects of my work, how I go about creating  my stamps, where I make them (yes I’ll post a picture of my tiny messy workspace..stay tuned) and any other stuff I feel the need to share!

My name is Melissa (my brother has always called me Mo..hence the name Studio Mo)  and I am a stay at home mother of two boys.  Stay at home is a crazy expression because I wish I was at home more!  Sodapop is 12 years old and Doc is 8 years old and they are the joy of my life.  They are both very crafty and artistic ( guess they get it from me?) and I must of have gotten it from my mom and dad who are both very talented artists…and  my brother who is the coolest creative guy ever.  A long time ago he made me a beautiful tiny sculpture of two rocks that he wound rope around and then glazed.  It’s one of my super most favorite treasures I have ( there’s a picture of it in my blog)

I love to create everything.   I have a craft room slash studio that has so much stuff in it…ahhhh!  I try to weed it out but I can’t bare to part with things even if I haven’t used them in years (my woodburner, my bedazzler, my weaving loom, my candle making supplies) you get  the idea.  I stumbled upon carving rubber stamps about a year ago and fell in love with it.  It’s kind of weird because I was  never really  into stamping before but it’s the carving that I really fell for.  I love to see my creations carved into rubber.  It’s actually a very soothing and peaceful craft.  Anyways in my quest for finding some means of making money that allows me to continue in my commitment to being home with Sodapop and Doc I decided to open a store on Etsy and sell my stamps (and cards, gift tags, buttons and stickers..all hand stamped of course)

I’m not sure what else to tell you about right now so I’ll just say thanks for dropping by, have a look around, and if there’s any of my stamps or things you like and  want to buy then check out my shop at Etsy www.StudioMo.esty.com where you’ll find a ton of stuff made by….me!

Oh and if you feel like trying to carve some of your own stamps (you’ll love it!) then check out my tutorial for easy to follow instructions.  If you need anymore help or if you have any questions feel free to email me at mo@studiomomelissa.com    :)
